   The Divine Martyr

Light:

Wilful sacrifices; accepting one’s vulnerability; divine understanding or acceptance of one’s pain

Dark:

Playing the victim, taking on wounds as identity / ignoring the larger picture; wallowing; making a show of pain to induce pity or guilt in others

Ask Yourself:

What role do you play when telling the story of what you've been through?  Do you assume the role of the powerless victim, or someone who is humbly able to rise from their pain?  Even though horrific things may happen to us, we always have the choice to take responsibility for what happened to us, even if what happened was not our FAULT.  How can you move forward with healing and transcending what has happened to you?  Are you holding onto your pain as a security blanket or clinging to it as your identity?  There is a new dawn awaiting for those willing to process their pain. <3
